The Albino Superconda is a unique variation of the Western Hognose Snake (Heterodon nasicus). Thanks to its distinctive appearance and active character, this species has remained one of the most popular snakes in the hobby. Description
Albino Superconda is a combination of the recessive amelanistic Albino mutation and the homozygous incomplete dominant Superconda mutation. Due to the absence of melanin, this combination develops red, orange or yellow tones together with red eyes. The Superconda mutation removes nearly all dorsal pattern, resulting in mostly patternless dorsal scales. The head pattern generally remains visible. Compared to a regular Albino, this combination places more emphasis on the background colour than on the pattern itself. The belly is generally uniform in colour. The intensity of colour and contrast may vary between individual specimens.
