The Albino is a unique variation of the Western Hognose Snake (Heterodon nasicus). Thanks to its distinctive appearance and active character, this species has remained one of the most popular snakes in the hobby. Description
Albino is a recessive amelanistic mutation in which melanin is absent. Due to the absence of melanin, this mutation does not display dark brown or black pigmentation. Colouration typically ranges from red and orange to yellow tones. The eyes are red, which is a recognisable characteristic of this morph. The dorsal pattern remains visible but lacks black pigmentation. Colour intensity may vary between individual animals. Albino is frequently combined with other morphs because of its strong influence on pigment and contrast. This mutation is considered one of the best known western hognose morphs and is widely used in genetic combinations.
