The Big Black Conda is a unique variation of the Western Hognose Snake (Heterodon nasicus). Thanks to its distinctive appearance and active character, this species has remained one of the most popular snakes in the hobby. Description
The Big Black Conda is a hognose snake combining the Sable, Arctic and Anaconda morphs. This combination produces the brown Sable colouration, with darker borders around the saddles and visible ‘eyebrows’. In younger snakes, Arctic gives a lighter colouration with more reddish and greenish hues. As the snake ages, it darkens and the saddles turn black. The Anaconda morph additionally results in a largely absent dorsal pattern on this snake.
