Western hognose snake (Heterodon nasicus) Caramel Anaconda
The Caramel Anaconda is a unique variation of the Western Hognose Snake (Heterodon nasicus). Thanks to its distinctive appearance and active character, this species has remained one of the most popular snakes in the hobby. Description
Caramel Anaconda is a combination of the recessive Caramel mutation and the heterozygous incomplete dominant Anaconda mutation. The Caramel mutation creates caramel-like tones without visible black markings. The eyes and tongue have a ruby-pink colour. A recognisable trait of Caramel is the reduced head and neck pattern, making this mutation easy to identify. The belly pattern is usually almost completely absent, with a light ivory-cream colour. The Anaconda mutation creates a more open pattern, with fewer markings along the body and more visible background colour.
