The Caramel Superconda is a unique variation of the Western Hognose Snake (Heterodon nasicus). Thanks to its distinctive appearance and active character, this species has remained one of the most popular snakes in the hobby. Description
Caramel Superconda is a combination of the recessive Caramel mutation and the homozygous incomplete dominant Superconda mutation. The Caramel mutation creates warm caramel-like tones without visible black markings. The eyes and tongue have a ruby-pink colour. A recognisable trait of Caramel is the reduced head and neck pattern, making this mutation easy to identify. The belly pattern is usually almost completely absent, with a light ivory-cream colour. The Superconda mutation causes the dorsal pattern to be completely absent, leaving mainly the head pattern visible.
