The Pistachio is a unique variation of the Western Hognose Snake (Heterodon nasicus). Thanks to its distinctive appearance and active character, this species has remained one of the most popular snakes in the hobby. Description
Pistachio is a recessive mutation with a muted brown to olive-like colour distribution. The markings generally display less contrast than in a Normal morph. Dorsal blotches are often less sharply defined, creating softer transitions between the pattern and background colour. The belly pattern is usually lighter in colour. Hatchlings may initially show more contrast before the colours gradually soften over time. This mutation affects both colour intensity and pattern visibility. The combination of olive-like tones and reduced contrast gives this morph a recognisable overall colour distribution.
