The Superconda is a unique variation of the Western Hognose Snake (Heterodon nasicus). Thanks to its distinctive appearance and active character, this species has remained one of the most popular snakes in the hobby. Description
Superconda is a homozygous incomplete dominant mutation that strongly affects the pattern of the western hognose snake. This mutation produces an almost patternless snake, usually retaining only a visible head pattern. The belly is generally solid black. The absence of dorsal pattern creates a very clean appearance. Superconda is produced by pairing two anaconda animals together. Although the back is generally patternless, the amount of remaining markings can vary slightly between specimens. This mutation is frequently used in combination projects where reduced dorsal pattern is desired.
